Dove Elixir Hair Fall Rescue, Rose And Almond Oil-Review

Hair Type: Oily scalp with normal-to-dry ends

Hola!

I was looking to switch to a new hair oil when I came across the Dove Elixir one with Rose and Almond Oil. I have been using it for a while now, so let’s jump straight into the review and see how did it fare out for me. Keep reading to find out more…

What The Brand Claims: Elixir is a luxurious blend of precious oils by Dove. Infused with real ingredients, it nourishes your hair from root to tip. This potent blend of oils has the power of overnight oiling in 30 minutes.

Dove Elixir-Hair Fall Rescue is infused with the strengthening qualities of precious Almond Oil to nourish your hair and help dramatically reduce hair fall.

Packaging: The brand has done an excellent job with the packaging here! The hair oil comes in a beautiful cardboard box that holds the product inside. The bottle is just so beautiful and unique and comes with a pump dispenser. It is see-through and one can keep track of how much product has been consumed.

There is also a top cap that I feel could have been slightly tighter in order to avoid spilling of oil. All the important details such as date of manufacturing, use-before date, MRP as well as ingredient list are clearly laid out. All in all, the packaging is stunning and hygienic-to-use, but might not be completely travel-friendly.

Ingredient List:

My Experience With The Product: Dove Elixir Rose And Almond Oil is colorless and has a really smooth and runny consistency. It is very easy to work with and effortlessly applies on the scalp and tresses. It quickly gets absorbed and is lightweight and non-sticky. It does a good job and makes the hair soft, smooth and healthy.

However, removing the oil from the hair can get difficult. It does not come out easily and one needs to apply shampoo 2-3 times in order to completely get rid of the oil. It has a strong Rose scent that lingers on for a long time and can be overpowering for sensitive noses. The product retails for Rs 225 for 90 ml and can be easily found online.

Yays!

  • Gorgeous, unique and attractive packaging
  • Really smooth and runny consistency
  • Easy to work with, applies effortlessly
  • Lightweight and non-sticky formula
  • Leaves the hair soft, smooth and healthy
  • Can be easily found online

Nays!

  • Overpriced for a hair oil
  • You need to apply extra shampoo in order to completely remove the oil from hair
  • Strong, overpowering Rose scent that lingers on for a long time
  • As one reaches towards the end of the product, it becomes difficult to pump it out
  • The top cap could have been slightly tighter, might not be completely travel-friendly

Price: Rs 225 for 90 ml

Rating:B

Final Thoughts: Dove Elixir Rose and Almond Oil has a smooth consistency and is easy to work with. It effortlessly applies on the hair and makes it soft, smooth and healthy. The formula is lightweight and non-sticky and feels comfortable.

However, one needs to apply extra amount of shampoo in order to completely remove the oil from hair, especially if you have an oily scalp like me! I feel this unfortunately defeats the entire purpose of oiling the hair. Also, the scent is too strong for my liking and lingers on for quite some time.

So, if you are looking to try out a decent hair oil, you can give this a try. As for me, I would not be repurchasing this.

Till next time,

XOXO
