St. Ives Energizing Coconut And Coffee Scrub Review

Skin type: Normal to dry

Hello!

I had reviewed the Fresh Skin Apricot Scrub from St. Ives some time back, and today I have with me their Coconut and Coffee scrub. I bought this a couple of weeks back and have been using it regularly since. So let’s see what are my thoughts on this one and how it fared out for me. Keep reading to find out more…

What The Brand Claims: Trust us, you’ll want to get out of bed for this! From America’s #1 scrub brand, this scrub contains 100% natural exfoliants to leave skin looking and feeling fresh.

The extracts from laid-back coconuts are famous for pampering and softening skin. Coffee extracts are known to bring on the energy of the day!

Packaging: The brand has recently revamped the packaging and the scrub comes in an attractive, chubby tube. It has a flip-top cap that shuts tightly with a click and is hygienic-to-use. All the important information like MRP, date of manufacturing, use-before date, ingredient list, directions to use and net product weight is clearly mentioned. All in all, I absolutely loved the packaging! It’s beautiful as well as convenient-to-use, but can be slightly bulky to carry around.

Ingredient List:

My Experience With The Product: St. Ives Energizing Coconut And Coffee Scrub is beige-brown in color and has a thick and creamy texture. It contains tiny exfoliating granules that are densely packed together. It is very easy to work with and  beautifully spreads on the skin. It provides deep exfoliation and does a brilliant job of of removing dead skin cells.

The skin instantly feels soft, clean and thoroughly refreshed. It is important to use this scrub gently and with a light hand, else it can feel harsh on the skin. The product quantity is good and goes a long way.

I sometimes also use this as a body scrub and it does a good job there too! The product is quick and fuss-free to rinse off and does not leave any slippery feel behind. Another great thing is that as this is a cream-based scrub, it does not dry out the skin.

Coming to the fragrance, now I was hoping more of a coffee scent, but this one has a mixed scent of caramel and coconuts that I did not like much. The fragrance lingers on for some time and eventually settles down. The product retails for Rs 399 for 170 gm and can be easily found online.

PS: As this scrub provides deep exfoliation, make sure to do a patch test first, especially if you have sensitive skin.

Nays!

  • Scrubbing action can be harsh for sensitive skin
  • Caramel cum coconut scent would not be liked by everyone
  • Expensive for a face scrub
  • Long chemical list, contains alcohol too
  • Chubby tube might not be travel friendly

Price: Rs 399 for 170 gm

Rating: A

Final Thoughts: St. Ives Coconut and Coffee Scrub has a smooth and creamy texture. It provides deep exfoliation and does an excellent job of exfoliating the skin. The face instantly feels soft, clean and thoroughly refreshed and the product is quick and easy to rinse off as well.

Unfortunately, it contains a lot of chemicals, including alcohol and is priced on the higher side too. Other than that, this is a great scrub to try out. But I found the Apricot one relatively better and would stick to that!

Till next time,

XOXO
