Essence Mono Eyeshadow, Black Goddess: Review, Swatches

Hey there!

I am completely obsessed with eye makeup and love all things shimmer. I am just drawn to eyeshadows and love them with all my heart. Essence is a well known name in the beauty world that offers a wide array of products at affordable prices. The one that I am reviewing today is their mono eyeshadow in the shade Black Goddess. So let’s jump right into the review and see how this one fared out for me. Keep reading!

What The Brand Claims: These fantastic Essence Eyeshadows stand-out for their shimmering, metallic and sparkling effects. The soft texture makes application a dream. These easy to use Mono Eyeshadows with high pigmentation guarantee a colorful start to the season.

Packaging: The eyeshadow comes in a round plastic pan that one can see through. It has the brand name Essence mentioned on top of it and you need to flip open the cap in order to use the product. However, I found the packaging to be slightly flimsy! I wish the cap would shut more securely and was of better quality. The shade name is mentioned at the back of the pan along with all the other important details like date of manufacturing, date of expiry, MRP and net product volume.

Shade: I was actually looking for a matte black eyeshadow when I came across this product. However, in reality, this is a steel grey color with silver shimmers. The color is really pretty and especially looks great during night time. The shimmers are very finely milled and are not at all chunky or gritty.

My Experience With The Product: Essence Mono Eyeshadow in the shade Black Goddess is a powder-based shadow and has a smooth formula. It easily spreads on the eyelids and works best with fingers or a wet brush. It is easy to blend and there is minimal fallout, which is great! It has a staying power of around 4 hours, which can of course be improved by applying a primer underneath. The pigmentation is average and you do need to go over 2-3 times in order to get full intensity. Removing the color is also not a problem as it easily comes out with any cleanser or a makeup remover in one go. The product is easily available and comes at an affordable price point.
