Skin Type: Normal to dry
Today I will be reviewing the famous Bio Oil. Since the moment it entered the Indian market in 2014, this product has been raved about. As you can see from the pictures, I have already consumed more than half of the bottle. I have been regularly using this for the past few months and wanted to share my experience with you all. So let’s get started and see how this one fared for me!
What The Product Claims: Bio Oil is a specialized skincare product formulated to help improve the appearance of scars, stretch marks and uneven skin tone. Its unique formulation, which contains the breakthrough ingredient PurCellin Oil, is also highly effective for ageing and dehydrated skin.
Packaging: Bio Oil comes in a cute little bottle packaging with an outer cardboard cover that clearly mentions all the product information. The bottle is see-through so you can see how much product is still remaining. I really like the cute packaging and it is easy to carry around as well.
Consistency: The oil has very runny consistency.
Color: The oil appears to have an orange tint in the bottle, but is actually colorless when taken out.
My Experience With The Product: The Bio Oil contains an impressive list of natural ingredients such as Vitamin A,Vitamin E, Calendula Oil,Lavender Oil, Rosemary Oil,Chamomile Oil and PurCellin Oil. Being lightweight, it instantly sinks into the skin with gentle massaging and does not leave any greasiness behind. One can actually notice the skin feeling hydrated and plump and it adds a natural glow too. It can be used as a facial oil as well as a body oil.
However, in my experience, even after using this regularly, I did not find any lightening of scars. I was kind of hoping that it would work on dark circles as well, but I did not notice any lightening either. Basically, it just keeps the under-eye area hydrated, that’s all! Coming to the fragrance, it has a subtle soothing scent that I really love. In addition, it is non-comedogenic as well as hypoallergenic and is suitable for sensitive skin too.
- Rapidly gets absorbed into the skin
- Lightweight & non-greasy
- Instantly hydrates the skin
- Makes the skin healthy
- Easily available
- Does nothing for lightening dark circles
- Did not work on the scars either
Price: Rs 450 for 60 ml
Rs 700 for 125 ml
Final Thoughts: To sum up, I was not really impressed with this product especially after reading so many positive reviews. Personally, it did not work for me and I would rather go for an essential oil instead.
But if you are looking for a good facial oil that is lightweight and non-sticky in order to keep the skin hydrated, you can give this a try!
